Immunity to Chaos: How Personal Resources Help Us Cope with the Challenges of a Turbulent World
International conflicts, crises and digital overload—the modern world puts our minds to the test every day. Traditional psychology often focuses on the consequences: anxiety, depression, and psychosomatic disorders. But what if we looked at the problem differently—through the lens of the resources that prevent us from breaking down? Psychological immunity is precisely this set of resources. Alena Zolotareva and her group, Psychological Immunity as a Resource for Positive Functioning, are developing an integrative model of this phenomenon, adapting diagnostic tools and preparing for large-scale empirical research. Why do psychologists need to collaborate with medical professionals, and how could their research transform preventive care in clinics and corporations?

How to Assess Students Knowledge in the Age of AI
A researcher at HSE University has proposed a flowchart to help lecturers decide how to assess students who use artificial intelligence. It shows where the use of AI should be restricted and where it can be incorporated into the learning process. The article has been published in IT Professional.

‘Balkan Hospitality Opens Doors: Studying Dialects on the Verge of Extinction
You cannot study spoken dialects from books. Instead, you need to go to a village, seek out its elders, and earn the trust of local residents before you can record hours of spontaneous stories. This is how Natalia Muravleva, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, conducts her research. Her internship in Serbia continued her long-standing study of dialects spoken by Macedonian settlers. In this interview, she discusses how diaspora cultural centres help researchers reach informants, why native speakers need to be interviewed only in their own language (otherwise, as she puts it, they may 'break'), and how a single field season helped her finalise her monograph. She also shares warm memories of autumn in Belgrade and of colleagues with whom grammar can be discussed in three languages at once.

Lebedev O. B., Шмелева А. Г., Гежа Н. С., Информатика и автоматизация (Труды СПИИРАН) 2026 Т. 25 № 3 С. 720–750
This paper describes the development of a neural network model for automated analysis of medical data in electrophysiology based on deep learning methods. The relevance of this work stems from the growing need to improve the objectivity, speed, and accuracy of processing complex spatiotemporal signals, such as ECG or EEG. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs), which ...

Scalable machine learning approach to disordered s-wave superconductors
Неверов В. Д., Красавин А. В., Vagov A. et al., Physical Review B: Condensed Matter and Materials Physics 2026 Vol. 113 P. 1–6
We develop a neural network approach to solve the self-consistent Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations in strongly disordered s-wave superconductors. The method accurately reproduces inhomogeneous gap distributions and generalizes to system sizes far larger than those used in training. It reduces computational scaling from O(N6 ) to O(N2), enabling quantitative analysis of percolation phenomena and the superconductor-insulator ...

Studying or Children? Factors and Diversity of Event Sequences in Female Educational and Childbearing Trajectories
Anna Cherviakova, Gudkova T., Alla Makarentseva et al., Comparative Sociology 2026 Vol. 25 P. 446–474
This study examines the relationship between educational and reproductive choices and aims to establish whether they compete in the lives of young Russian women born in the 1990s. The authors use longitudinal data of the ‘Trajectories in Education and Carriers’ survey (2011–2021; panel sample N = 992) and successively apply sequence analysis, cluster analysis, and ...

A unified frequency-domain framework for tilted slice localization and ischemic stroke detection
Khodadoust J., Kulikova S., Khodadoust F., Biomedical Signal Processing and Control 2027 Vol. 129 P. 111284–111284
Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) analysis from two-dimensional (2D) clinical imaging is hindered by uncontrolled slice tilt and geometric inconsistencies that violate the assumptions of pose-agnostic deep learning (DL) models. This paper proposes a unified geometry-aware, frequency-domain framework for tilted slice localization and ischemic stroke segmentation that explicitly decouples pose estimation from lesion analysis. The method ...

Stable On-the-Fly Learning for Dynamic Neural Networks With Delayed Inputs
Chertopolokhov V., Mukhamedov A., Bugriy G. et al., IEEE Access 2026 Vol. 14 P. 14369–14392
This study presents on-the-fly identification and multi-step prediction of nonlinear systems with delayed inputs using a dynamic neural network combined with a smooth projection onto ellipsoids. The projection enforces parameter constraints that guarantee stability, while a Lyapunov–Krasovskii analysis yields computable ultimate error bounds. Riccati-type matrix inequalities are derived, providing an efficient vectorization–projection–devectorization implementation suitable for ...

Efremov A., Portnoy S.,

Smirnov A., Экономика региона 2022 Т. 18 № 1 С. 133–145
The nature and intensity of migration processes are constantly changing. Demographic statistics are not suitable for obtaining up-to-date information and making timely decisions in the field of demographic and social policy. Thus, digital demography is becoming increasingly important, as this area of population research uses new methods and data sources resulting from the Internet expansion ...

A textual fingerprint learning model to detect fake information spreaders in social networks
Behzadidoost R., Neurocomputing 2025 Vol. 665 P. 1–21
While earlier research has focused on detecting misinformation content, identifying the users who spread it, referred to in this paper as fake information spreaders, remains a relatively new challenge. These users deliberately mix true and false information, making detection more difficult. This paper proposes a textual fingerprint learning model to detect fake information spreaders. The ...
