The work analyzes lawyer engagement structure through analyze of quantitative and qualitative composition of particular legal activity fields (law enforcement service, law subdivisions of state civil and municipal service, bar, notariate, judicial activity, private practice lawyer activity, corporate lawyers and lawyers in specialized law firms, and scientific pedagogical work in the law field. It estimates the head count of lawyers engaged in each analyzed professional activity field and general requirements to candidates for admission to relevant positions. The work concludes that the minority of practicing lawyers is engaged in legally regulated legal activity fields, with the majority of lawyers performing activity of which the professional community often has nothing but general idea. Based on this, the conclusion is drawn about necessity to elaborate a set of measures aimed at improving the quality of law education and personnel policy.
