Thermal insulation: operational properties and methods of research
The construction system consists of materials with different properties. The use of materials in the construction should ensure maximum performance and durability. The use of thermal insulation materials is an effective way to form the thermal envelope of a building, reduce energy costs and increase the durability of building structures. The properties of materials are determined by their structure, which is formed in the process of technological impact.
The formation of the insulation shell of oil and gas industry facilities is possible only when considering the features of the thermal insulation layer in the design and using high-quality materials that retain their characteristics, both at the early stages of operation and throughout the entire design period. The first is achieved through competent design, the second-the ability to evaluate the properties of thermal insulation (and predict changes in these properties over time) directly on the construction site. The methodology for assessing the properties of insulation products includes two main components: a test center and a methodology for assessing operational stability. The methodology for conducting accelerated tests and predicting durability is tested on mineral wool products of multilayer, corrugated and volume-oriented structures.
