The investigation of expanded polystyrene creep behavior
The results obtained during long-term tests under constant compressed stress of the section made of Slabs EPS 50/100 and EPS 150 with a density of 15 to 24 kg/m3 are presented. The deformation of the samples was used as a criterion for evaluating the deformation of EPS plates under prolonged compression. The long-term measurement error of stress compression did not exceed 1%, while the measurement error of creep strain did not exceed 0.005 mm. The tests were carried out at ambient temperature (23±2) and relative humidity (50±5). The method of mathematical and statistical experimental models for optimizing the design, taking into account the thickness of the samples, is proposed to determine the correspondence of the experimental creep to the predicted estimate of the calculated creep. A graphical interpretation of the abstaining models is also presented. The resulting equations can be used in practice to estimate the creep of samples at that time and to predict creep estimates for loading durations of up to 10 years.
