Immunity to Chaos: How Personal Resources Help Us Cope with the Challenges of a Turbulent World
International conflicts, crises and digital overload—the modern world puts our minds to the test every day. Traditional psychology often focuses on the consequences: anxiety, depression, and psychosomatic disorders. But what if we looked at the problem differently—through the lens of the resources that prevent us from breaking down? Psychological immunity is precisely this set of resources. Alena Zolotareva and her group, Psychological Immunity as a Resource for Positive Functioning, are developing an integrative model of this phenomenon, adapting diagnostic tools and preparing for large-scale empirical research. Why do psychologists need to collaborate with medical professionals, and how could their research transform preventive care in clinics and corporations?

‘Balkan Hospitality Opens Doors: Studying Dialects on the Verge of Extinction
You cannot study spoken dialects from books. Instead, you need to go to a village, seek out its elders, and earn the trust of local residents before you can record hours of spontaneous stories. This is how Natalia Muravleva, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, conducts her research. Her internship in Serbia continued her long-standing study of dialects spoken by Macedonian settlers. In this interview, she discusses how diaspora cultural centres help researchers reach informants, why native speakers need to be interviewed only in their own language (otherwise, as she puts it, they may 'break'), and how a single field season helped her finalise her monograph. She also shares warm memories of autumn in Belgrade and of colleagues with whom grammar can be discussed in three languages at once.

Online Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation of Dorsomedial and Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex in Cognition Decision Making, and Cognitive Dissonance
Davydova A., Sheronova J., Kosonogov V. et al., Journal of Visualized Experiments 2025 No. 226 Article e67500
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a powerful method for revealing causal links between specific brain regions and cognitive functions. While offline TMS has traditionally dominated cognitive neuroscience research, online repetitive TMS (rTMS) presents undoubted advantages, enabling stimulation concurrent with task performance. Leveraging advancements in this stimulation method, the study introduces a novel online rTMS protocol ...

The Neurodevelopmental Dynamics of Multilingual Experience During Childhood: A Longitudinal Behavioral, Structural, and Functional MRI Study
Della Rosa P. A., Videsott G., Borsa V. M. et al., Brain Sciences 2025 Vol. 15 No. 1 Article 54
Background/Objectives: A neurobiological framework of bi- or multilingual neurocognitive development must consider the following: (i) longitudinal behavioral and neural measures; (ii) brain developmental constraints across structure and function; and (iii) the development of global multilingual competence in a homogeneous social environment. In this study, we investigated whether multilingual competence yields early changes in executive attention ...

Monahhova E., Morozova A., Gorodnicheva Y. et al., , in: 2025 Seventh International Conference Neurotechnologies and Neurointerfaces (CNN).: IEEE, 2025. P. 74–77.
This study examined behavioral and electrophysiological responses to medical sources with varying credibility levels regarding expertise and trustworthiness dimensions. We investigated how a fictional doctor's work experience (expertise), patient ratings (trustworthiness) and participants' individual characteristics influence source persuasiveness and opinion changes about true and fake medical statements. Overall, 19 participants performed a pilot study: they ...

В., Lebedeva A., Kesopulo S. et al., Национальный психологический журнал 2025 Т. 20 № 4 С. 129–141
Background. In recent years, attention to the state of emptiness has intensified, as phenomenologically similar experiences increasingly appear among the persistent sequelae of coronavirus infection and other critical conditions. In psychology, emptiness is typically regarded as a symptom of mental disorder or existential crisis. However, in philosophy and religion, such experiences are interpreted as a ...

Maksimenkova O. V., Сегал А.
The study is devoted to the humans and artificial intelligence (AI) interaction. The authors view this interaction as mediated by interfaces that both simplify it and hide the real mechanisms of encoding and decoding messages (according to Shannon). In such a situation, the characteristics of the actor of communication are blurred, and it is not ...

Designing the Uncanny: Architectural Form and Artificial Imagination
Pirari G., Battelli C., REIA. Revista Europea de Investigation en Architectura 2025 Vol. 26 P. 18–38
This paper investigates the relationship between artificial intelligence and architectural imagination by examining the uncanny dimension (Freud, Vidler) inherent in machine-generated images and spatial configurations. Drawing upon Freud’s concept of the Unheimlich and Baudelaire’s poetics of the double, it interprets AI-driven architectures as manifestations of disturbed familiarity, emerging from a syncretic combinatorial logic that challenges ...

The article attempts to revise the works of the Soviet linguist Valentin Voloshinov within the framework of the tasks of modern critical discourse analysis. Voloshinov argues that to correctly understand the meaning of a statement means to correctly restore the social context. Different social classes use the same language, therefore, in each sign of this ...

The author focuses on the question of the possibility of using a network approach to study thinking provoked by studies of the structure of the brain (neural networks). The use of logical calculus as a network (conclusions as graph edges) is proposed. It is fixed that if we consider the so-called post-systems as these calculi, ...

Discussions about the nature of consciousness are mainly conducted within the framework of three hypotheses: (1) consciousness is an independent reality that is not connected with matter by cause-and-effect relationships — dualism, (2) consciousness is something derived from material substance — physicalism, and (3) matter and consciousness are modes of something third — neutral monism. ...

Using the method of combining logical systems, it is possible to describe the work of consciousness by means of logical systems — combinations of various kinds of connections of mental states and causal connections of neuronal states (psychophysical problem). For a pair of such “logics” it is always possible to find a “combined” logical system whose properties ...

Volkov D., Evstigneev M.,
The research presents a comparative analysis of John McDowell’s and Gilles Deleuze’s conceptions of transcendental empiricism. The very name of this conception bears in itself a kind of paradox, since Kant (the father of transcendental philosophy) occasionally used the term “transcendental” as “non-empirical”. The article presents an attempt to explain why these philosophers apply to ...
