HSE Scientists Train Neural Network to 'Hear' Faults in Electric Motors
Researchers at the AI and Digital Science Institute of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science have developed a new method—the Signature-Guided Data Augmentation (SGDA) framework—that achieves 99% accuracy in motor fault detection and 86% accuracy in fault classification. The application of this approach can reduce industrial equipment repair costs, minimise downtime, and improve production safety. The study results have been published in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.

Is It Possible to Predict a Citys Life Based on the Shape of Its Neighbourhoods?
Is it possible to predict, based on the configuration of streets and buildings, where a café will open or where traffic congestion will occur? Participants in the Spatial Analysis and Modelling of Urban Processes research and study group use open data and machine learning to identify universal patterns. Alexander Sheludkov and Eduard Somov discuss the purpose of comparing cities, the need for new forms of urban statistics, and how open data is transforming approaches to urban studies.

К вопросу истории развития корейской письменности Хангыль. Первые переводы русской и советской литературы на корейский язык

Статья посвящена истории развития корейской письменности Хангыль на советском Дальнем Востоке. C 1924 по 1937 гг. в СССР было издано более пятисот книг для корейских школ и техникумов на корейском языке (Хангыль). С 1934 по 1937 гг. было издано 22 книги по русской литературе. В этом списке переводы произведений великих русских писателей: А.С. Пушкина, Л.Н. Толстого, А.П. Чехова, М.Ю Лермонтова, Н.А. Некрасова, И.С. Тургенева, Н.В. Гоголя, И. Гончарова, М. Горького, В. Маяковского и др. Впервые в мире была переведена русская и советская литература на корейский язык для массового читателя. Корейская интеллигенция в лице общественно-политических деятелей через русскую и корейскую культуру активно развивала корейский язык в СССР. Русская и советская литература сыграла огромную роль в формировании самосознания, национального сознания и самоидентификации корейцев. Книги на корейском языке, созданные в СССР, являются культурным наследием и исторической памятью о целом поколении людей. Они хранят память, отражают менталитет, идеалы, стремления, мировоззрение корейского народа, принявшего Россию своей второй родиной.
