It is without doubt that Russia and South Korea are working on strengthening cooperation in order to form a solid partnership between two countries. It is likely impossible without the formation of positive images of the country in the Mass Media, that is the key factor in the development of thecitizens’ representations in the 21st century. Therefore, this work that studiedrepresentations of Russia and Korea in the media is not only relevant, but also is practical in nature. It will help to identify why that particular images were reconstructed in the media. In addition, it will determine the emotional connotations of the images in the media field. Finally, it will develop the measures that can be implemented for building a productive dialogue between Russia and South Korea. This study is the monitoring of Russian and Korean newspapers. It was carried with the help of different research tools, such as the Medialogy service. Online newspapers were selected for the research due to the fact that more and more people switch from the print newspapers to online ones. In this work, a theoretical model of the images of Russia and Korea in the representation of Koreans and Russians was constructed. The theoretical model was used as the base for the empirical research into the online newspapers. The study is based on the articles published from July 2018 to December 2018. Using these data, modern images of countries can be reconstructed. Thus, current images that have been developed on the basis of current events can be identified. In conclusion, the modern images of Russia and South Korea were presented, and the emotional weight of these images was determined. Building on the results, the weaknesses of intercultural communication between Russia and the Republic of Korea were highlighted.Keywords: Russia, South Korea, image, mass media
