Проблема соотношения реального и легендарного в биографии аютийского поэта Си Прата (≈1653 – ≈1683–88)
The medieval poet Si Prat is a unique phenomenon in Thai literature of the Ayuthaya period (1350-1767). Even without a large body of work (Kamsuan Si̅ Pra̅t, Anirut kham chan) Si Prat’s name and identity remain well-known in Thailand. It is quite difficult to answer which of two aspects of his life – biography or oeuvre – attracts more attention to. Si Prat, in fact, is one of the first medieval Thai poets whose biographical details have been kept. Some stories about Si Prat are thought to be legends that is why researchers’ hypothesis as to Si Prat’s life and work are contradictory and are not always backed up by substantial evidence. However, some court chronicles are trustworthy. As the title implies the article is concerned with the problem of correlation of real and legendary facts in the biography of the medieval Thai poet Si Prat during the Ayutthaya period.
