Comparative Administrative Reforms

P. 1–8.
Inkina S.

Administrative reform is a political and administrative process that is carried out to improve or reorganize public sector organizations. The scope of administrative reforms varies from efforts to launch comprehensive policy change with the goal of accomplishing broader policy objectives, to the introduction of minor technical regulations that maintain public authority and the organizational capacities of a well-functioning state. Ideas underlying current public administrative reforms address the needs of state actors to resolve problems, such as economic crises, bureaucratic inefficiency, or lack of control. The importance of public administrative reform is obvious from the fact that state effectiveness is an important condition of state survival.
