Immersion in Second Language Environment Influences Bilinguals Perception of Emotions
Researchers at the Cognitive Health and Intelligence Centre at the HSE Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience have discovered how bilingual individuals process emotional words in their native (first) and non-native (second) languages. It was found that the link between word meaning and bodily sensations is weaker in a second language than in a first language. However, the more a person is immersed in a language environment, the smaller this difference becomes. The article has been published in Language, Cognition and Neuroscience.

Russia’s political discourse on the EU’s energy transition (2014–2019) and its effect on EU-Russia energy relations
Romanova T. A., Energy Policy 2021 Vol. 154 P. 1–11
Four interpretations of the EU’s energy transition can be identified in Russia’s political discourse in 2014–2019 based on the matrix that combines realist and liberal approaches to energy relations and the denial or recognition of climate change. The cross-cutting idea of these interpretations is that Russia follows the market logics, whereas the EU either politicises ...

The EU, Russia and the Manichean Trap
Diesen G. E., Cambridge Review of International Affairs 2017 Vol. 30 No. 2-3 P. 177–194
Conceptualizing the EU as a postmodern cooperative power that “transcends realism” provides ideological scaffolding for an exclusive conception of “Europe” and veils a zero-sum geopolitical project as “European integration”.
