The Crisis of Russian Legal Education in Comparative Perspective

There is talk of a crisis in legal education today, not only in Russia, but also around the world. In Russia, however, the matter of legal education reform is especially critical. The irony is that, governed by lawyers over many years, Russia tries to ignore the rule of law. The author states his own vision of those challenges faced by the present Russian system of legal education. He discloses the reasons and offers possible ways out of the current situation. The key problem is the closed and isolated nature of Russian legal education and legal academia. Revealing Russian law to the world, including all its features, advantages and shortcomings, is the main focus.
