The article studies the concept of moral value "honor" in the French medieval consciousness at the turn of X - XIII centuries A characteristic feature of this period is that the concept of "honor" was to include such an ethical component as courtly love, which had a great influence on the perception of the concept of honor as a moral and ethical category.
