The object of study is the image of Hamlet in the homonymous tragedy by William Shakespeare. The subject of research is the philosophy of the Prince of Denmark, presented through the prism of values that it checks your life. The author justifies why the wisdom of Hamlet can be seen as a philosophy in the philosophical, mirosozertsaniia sense, but also analyzes the values that influenced how the hero of the tragedy had fulfilled its mission. For such values, the article can be attributed faith in God, love, power, glory, and honor. Special attention is paid to evidence of universal importance of "the doctrine of Hamlet" as understood by the author. Applied techniques such as historical and cultural reconstruction of the artistic image, the system approach to the study of the problem of philosophical interpretation of a literary text, extrapolation, axiological analysis, the ethical synthesis. The main conclusions of the study are: the sophistication of hamlet can be attributed to a special type of worldview philosophy known as "philosophy of life"; Hamlet in his behavior follows certain values which are checked when performing the tasks assigned to it. The main contribution of the author in the exploration of themes is to demonstrate the contradictory nature of the impact of these values on the personality and actions of Hamlet. The novelty lies in the approach to the reflections of the Prince of Denmark from the point of view of their analysis as expressions of certain values.
