The maturation of the project management discipline in combination with the regular budget is not performing projects, seducing them time and increase the risk of failure leading researchers to question the definition of the sources of project success. This study focuses on the analysis of PM characteristics necessary for success by identifying combinations of professional and general competences. This study includes two stages. The first stage identified by the general proportions in the structure of the necessary competencies, guidelines for the selection of project managers and the most important generic competences, which should have a PM. In the second stage we performed a deeper analysis of the projects in the field of Internet startups. Overall, the study involved more than 100 respondents across the country.
