In the article on the material of 515 stories about hometown we
reconstruct the social representation «city». The center of this representation consists
of natural objects (parks, forests, rivers), the objects of history and culture, industrial
facilities, as well as the townspeople. The dominant role of «nature» in the social
representation of «city» is explained by the fact that in the minds of citizens the
«city» is a symbolic part of their «native land».
