The photoemission of excess charge carriers into high-ohmic gallium arsenide was investigated. It was revealed, that the illumination even small local sample areas located far from contacts, influences both on contacts transition resistance and on volume conductivity of the crystal. On Suite-voltage dependencies there is a linear plot, angular coefficient which is directly proportional to the diameter of the illuminated surface. The model qualitatively explain the experimental results.

The Sm2MoO6 compounds, also known as oxymolybdates, were synthesized in air using a solid-phase method. A series of techniques were employed to characterize the undoped and, for the first time, lead-doped samples. It has been demonstrated that lead-containing samples form a wide range of solid solutions, which are isostructural (sp. gr. C2/c) to the pure ...

Rare-earth molybdenum-containing oxides of the nominal composition LixNd5-xMo3O6±δ (x = 0, 0.05, 0.15, 0.25) with a fluorite-related structure have been obtained for the first time as single crystals grown from flux and by solid-phase synthesis in air in the form of polycrystalline samples. The new phases are characterized using X-ray diffraction analysis, simultaneous thermal analysis, ...

Hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) possessing high crystallinity, simple synthetic procedure and easy regeneration provide high efficiency as multifunctional systems, including applications as proton conductors. Porphyrinylphosphonates having acidic moieties, which can form multiple hydrogen bonds, together with tunable physical–chemical properties of a macrocycle may significantly improve the proton conductivity of such materials. Herein, the synthesis, characterization ...

Semimetal states of crystalline molecular hydrogen have been obtained at a temperature of 100 K in the pressure
range from 410 to 626 GPa. To analyze the nature of conductivity, the band structure is calculated in the
framework of the density functional theory using the Heyd–Scuseria–Ernzerhof hybrid exchange-correlation
functional. One of the semimetal states occurs in a monoclinic ...

The paper is devoted to the problem of space onboard equipment stability to the factors of internal charging. Spacecraft dielectrics should have increased conductivity to exclude physical possibility of electrostatic discharges in them when exposed to near-Earth plasma electron radiation. It is possible to achieve an increase in the conductivity of dielectrics by introducing a ...

Determination of a magnetic field structure on a neutron star (NS) surface is an important problem of a modern astrophysics. In a presence of strong magnetic fields, a thermal conductivity of a degenerate matter is anisotropic. In this paper, we present 3D anisotropic heat transfer simulations in outer layers of magnetized NSs, and construct synthetic ...

Two-dimensional systems with Rashba spin-orbit coupling are not Galilean invariant and therefore electron–
electron collisions in them may affect the current. However, when taken alone, they cannot ensure a nonzero
dc resistivity, so their effects are masked by impurity scattering. Here we calculate the related finite-frequency
response and show that the electron–electron scattering in clean Rashba conductors decreases ...

We calculate the electrical and thermal conductivity of a two-dimensional electron gas with strong spin-orbit
coupling in which the scattering is dominated by electron-electron collisions. Despite the apparent absence of
Galilean invariance in the system, the two-particle scattering does not affect the electrical conductivity above
the band-crossing point where both helicity bands are filled. Below the band-crossing point ...

Electron-electron collisions are known to cause a nonlocal voltage drop in the presence of current flow. The
semiphenomenological theory predicts this drop to be opposite to the direction of the current in the ballistic
regime. We use a microscopic approach and show that the sign of this drop may be of both signs depending
on the temperature and ...

In the present study the properties of novel cation-exchange membranes based on UV-oxidized polymethylpentene (PMP) with grafted sulfonated polystyrene are described. A correlation between the composition of the grafted copolymer (grafting degree, cross-linking degree) and transport properties (Na+-conductivity, permselectivity, diffusion permeability) of resulted membranes are discussed. It is shown that with increasing of grafting degree (GD) and lowering of ...
