The problem of the quality of mortality statistics is one of the topical, especially mortality statistics from external causes, where the real levels of homicides, suicides, alcohol poisoning are underestimated due to the coding with other deaths codes of external causes. for example, with codes "Injuries with undetermined intent", "Other accidents", codes of ill-defined and unknown causes of mortality" of the class " Symptoms, signs and abnormal clinical and laboratory findings, not elsewhere classified", and codes "Cardiomyopathy unspecified" of the class "Diseases of the circulatory system" in the case of alcoholic mortality. In this work, we assess the real level of mortality from external causes, which is possibly 1.5-2 times higher than official statistics in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia.
