Основы теории информации
The textbook has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the federal state educational standards for secondary vocational education and is intended for studying the professional modules “Information Security in Information and Telecommunication Systems and Networks Using Software and Hardware‑Software Tools, Including Cryptographic Protection Tools” and “Information Security in Automated Systems Using Software and Hardware‑Software Tools”.
The content of the textbook includes the axiomatics of information theory, as well as such fundamental concepts as the amount of information, entropy, information in probabilistic schemes, and others. Based on the basic concepts of probability theory, a mathematical theory of information transmission over communication channels has been developed, which makes it possible to describe their throughput capacity, as well as the processes of data compression, optimal information coding, and the construction of error‑correcting codes. Issues related to the description of message sources and their mathematical models are examined in detail, as are modern types of ciphers and current encryption standards. Special attention is paid to the issues of generating and distributing encryption keys. All sections are accompanied by self‑assessment questions and exercises for independent practice.
For students studying in professions and specialties of secondary vocational education.
