Digitization of Medicine in Russia: Mainstream Development and Potential
The Digital technologies play an important role in various spheres of activities. Information and communication technologies, digital technologies as well as telecommunication services are getting more widespread in the field of medical services. Digitization in medicine can provide implementing the system of remote health monitoring, visual interaction in-between patient and doctor or between doctors from different hospitals and regions.
At the same time the development of digitization of medicine gives rise to a number of problems. One of the most serious problems is the problem of misuse of personal data and information from medical documents of patients. Unfair access to such personal confidential information can be potentially dangerous and cause serious mistakes in medical treatment.
The aim of the research is to identify the main directions and tendencies in digitization of medical field, reveal the potential of telecommunication medicine in Russia.
Research methods. The study has a research character. It examines the key problems in the process of development of digital technologies use in medicine in order to characterize the main tendencies.
