The article presents a study on the assessment of the main statistical indicators on the effectiveness of the development of the production process in the industry of Russian regions in recent years, associated with the negative impact of the pandemic on industrial production. Conducting research on the development of Russian industry in the regions in modern conditions, and the prospects for the development of Russian industry. The introduction presents an overview of the scientific literature of economists, researchers of industrial production studying this problem, formulates the goals and objectives of the study. The study of the state of development of industrial production in the Russian regions, depending on the regional development of the economy in the context of sanctions. An assessment of the indicators of industrial development, the main economic indicators of the activity of industrial enterprises was carried out, an analysis of the methods, scientists who took part in the study of this problem, both among domestic researchers and abroad, was carried out. The study focuses on indicators characterizing the development of industry in the Russian regions. Based on the study and the study of the materials of scientists who studied this problem and the results of the assessment, a conclusion was formulated, the essence of which is that in the future it is necessary to continue the transformation of regional management on an innovative basis.
