Борьба с "предельщиками" на советских железных дорогах: дискуссии и репрессии

Abstract. The article examines the history of the struggle against the so-called «Frontier theory» in Soviet railway transport in the 1930s. It provides data illustrating how discussions turned into repressions against those who held views that differed from those of the country's or industry's leaders. However, it is shown that the purpose of these discussions, which were presented as scientific, was not to find scientific truth but rather to engage in political struggles against dissenters. The discussions served as a mechanism for eliminating unwanted scientists, engineers, and leaders.
