The workbook is an integral part of the course in the History of English for 2nd year Bachelor students of the Faculty of Humanities majoring in Linguistics (45.03.02).
The texts and exercises of the workbook are correlated with the corresponding sections of "The History of the First Foreign Language (English)" by I. B. Rubert, E. A. Nilsen, and N. K. Genidze and "The History of the English Language" by I. P. Ivanova, L. P. Chahojan, T. М. Beljaeva. Materials of "A Reader in the History of English from the 7th to the 17th cc." by A. I. Smirnitsky as well as various original Middle English texts are used.
This workbook is intended to develop and enhance the skills of reading, translating and analysing Middle English texts.
