‘Working with AI Solves a Wide Range of Engineering Problems
Artificial intelligence is a working tool based on a balanced combination of algorithms and engineering. Experts and doctoral students from the HSE Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics explain how AI technologies can improve an application, device, or system, and what engineering tasks are solved in the process.

‘I Would Like My Research to Help Make the World a Calmer and Better Place
Whatever task Saraa Ali, Junior Research Fellow at the Laboratory of Methods for Big Data Analysis (LAMBDA) of the AI and Digital Science Institute (HSE Faculty of Computer Science), is working on, she thinks about how it can benefit people. ‘The Peak of Stupidity and ‘The Valley of Despair: HSE Economists Propose an Explanation for the Dunning–Kruger Effect
The Dunning–Kruger effect, which describes a sharp surge in self-confidence among beginners followed by an equally rapid decline as they gain experience, can be explained by the nature of the learning process and the acquisition of new knowledge. This conclusion was reached by Andrey Vorchik of the HSE Faculty of Economic Sciences together with independent researcher Murat Mamyshev. They developed a mathematical model of learning and demonstrated how subjective confidence is formed and changes as knowledge accumulates, as well as how teachers can reduce the ‘valley of despair’ experienced by learners.

Сонические эпистемологии

Логос. 2026. Т. 36. № 1. С. 165–194.
Шульце Х.

Pre-modern sound practices can be defined as practices that activate things and processes with minimal intervention. Their infinitely diverse cosmos, however, did not help them become a significant part of the world of scientific rationality, which they ceded to numerical and formulaic precision at the expense of another type of precision—sonic. An arbitrary idiosyncrasy toward sound determined the fate of all Western science, but the new field of sound epistemology is, before our very eyes, reclaiming a missed historical opportunity to think with and about sound, now on a new basis. These new foundations already take into account the division between sound practices and auditory techniques that emerged in connection with the modern capitalization and commodification of sound, and compel us to recognize auditory epistemologies as a field distinct from sonic epistemologies. If auditory epistemologies explore sound, then sonic epistemologies reflect, speak, and research through sound. Thus, the task of sonic epistemologies is to retain the critical potential and use auditory epistemologies as an alternative to formalized, industrialized and commodified sound experience.

Необходимая поэтичность интеллектуального творчества в философской герменевтике Х.-Г. Гадамера
Morozova M. V., Известия Самарского научного центра Российской академии наук 2015 Т. 17 № 1(2) С. 468–474
In this article to explore such a problem as an identification of philosophical knowledge is proposed to turn to the H.-G. Gadamer's project of philosophical hermeneutics, within the framework of which there's a convergence between poetry and philosophy on the grounds of some of their common features itemized in the paper. The convergence with poetry ...
