Цифровизация в туризме: глобальные тренды и опыт Санкт-Петербурга
Digital technologies are increasingly penetrating all sectors. The tourism sector was no exception. Research in this area highlights the importance of digitalization for tourism development both in the cases of force majeure (global crises like pandemics, extreme natural events, various problems with transport infrastructure or conflicts) and in the context of total digitalization. Digitalization allows creating virtual tours, 3D models of tourist sites and destinations, augmented reality products, etc. This article is based on a study conducted by the authors in 2025. The study aimed to determine the place of digital technologies in tourism in a global context and to study the experience of the Saint Petersburg tourism sector in applying digital technologies. To achieve this goal, the authors set the following objectives: 1) to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the litera ture on the topic; 2) to identify cases of interesting practices of using digital technologies (digital twins) in tourism and describe them; 3) to determine which of the existing practices are applied in Saint Petersburg; 4) to systematize the types of digital technologies appli cable in tourism. The study resulted in conclusions that allow us to understand what types of digital technologies can be applied in tourism and for what purposes, and a preliminary classification of them was developed.
