This article discusses the problem of the functioning of modal particles in German poetic texts. Modal particles are considered as communicative units which point out to pragmatic purposes of speakers and are an integral part of conversation. It is established that the concentration on the point of view of speakers allows the modal particles to structure poetic texts which are the result of the creative communication and show characteristics of the oral collocquial speech.
