Scientists Develop Algorithm for More Reliable Processors in Data Centres
Researchers from HSE MIEM and Samara University have developed the LRF-3D algorithm to automatically bypass idle nodes in three-dimensional networks-on-chip. Thanks to its hierarchical architecture, the algorithm outperforms existing solutions in both speed and path accuracy, improving processor reliability for use in data centres, supercomputers, and AI computing. The source code and test results are publicly available.

Researchers Develop Method for Direct Generation of Regulatory DNA
Researchers at HSE University have developed a model for generating promoters and enhancers—DNA sequences that regulate gene activity. The model works directly with DNA nucleotides, without first transforming them into a continuous numerical representation. This solution could be useful for applications in synthetic biology and gene therapy. The study results were presented at the ICLR 2026 Workshop ‘Generative AI in Genomics (Gen^2): Barriers and Frontiers.’

Social Integration: At the Crossroads of Knowledge and Values
The International Laboratory for Social Integration Research (ILSIR) at HSE University studies the challenges faced by vulnerable groups and explores ways to help them participate fully in everyday life. To develop effective solutions, the laboratory’s researchers combine cutting-edge methods with practical fieldwork. In this interview with the HSE News Service, Laboratory Head Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova discusses the laboratory’s work.

Представления о болезни и приверженность лечению у пациентов с острыми лейкозами и лимфомами

Клиническая и специальная психология. 2024. Т. 13. № 1. С. 87–104.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between of perceptions of illness and its
causes, body and health, and illness behavior in relation to treatment adherence in
patients with acute leukemia and lymphoma. We present one empirical study involving
lymphoma patients (N=58) aged 19 to 64 years (M=41.22; SD=11.17), of whom 70.7%
were female, and acute leukemia patients (N=51) aged 18 to 64 years (M=35.12;
SD=12.90), of whom 54.9% were female. Participants completed the Illness Perception
Questionnaire-Revised (IPQ-R), the Cognitions about body and health questionnaire
(CABAH), the Scale for the Assessment of Illness Behavior (SAIB) and 4-item Morisky
Medication Adherence Scale. The results suggest that patients with lymphoma are at risk
for decreased treatment adherence compared to patients with acute leukemia. In acute
leukemia, the targets of psychological work aimed at preventing reduced adherence to
treatment are patients' perceptions of the psychological causes of the disease and their
belief that healthy habits are not important for maintaining health, while in patients
with lymphomas — uncertainty that immune problems could provoke the disease.

Hypergraphs from multivariate connectivity: caCOH-based EEG/MEG representation
Vlasenko D., Saranskaia I., Zakharov D., European Physical Journal: Special Topics 2026 P. 1–16
Hypergraphs provide a natural framework for representing neurophysiological interactions distributed across sets of sensors. A key methodological question is how hyperedges should be defined from frequency-resolved electroencephalography/magnetoencephalography (EEG/MEG) data. We demonstrate a construction strategy in which hyperedges are obtained from canonical coherence (caCOH), an extension of coherence that estimates coupling between multidimensional signal spaces. To ...

Functional Brain Connectivity and Musical Training: Insights from EEG Phase Synchronization during Music Perception
A. Radygina, S. Kulikova, Herald of the Russian Academy of Sciences 2025 Vol. 95 No. 6 P. 963–970
Musical training has a significant impact on brain organization, leading to functional and structural adaptations that enhance auditory, visual, motor, and cognitive processes. This study investigates how extensive musical training shapes functional brain connectivity by comparing professional musicians and non-musicians. Using EEG phase-locking value (PLV) analysis, we examined neural synchronization across alpha, beta, and gamma frequency ranges during music ...
