The publication contains abstracts of reports presented at the International Scientific Conference "English Studies in the Third Millennium: New Approaches and Paths of Development". The collection consists of several thematic sections, which present the results of studying the English language from the standpoint of current theoretical and applied problems of linguistics and using modern methods actively developed today by a number of its interdisciplinary areas: cognitive linguistics, intercultural communication, linguacultural studies, sociolinguistics, multimodal linguistics. The approaches and concepts proposed by the conference participants are distinguished by their heuristic value and contribute to deepening knowledge of the English language and its subsystems. The rich empirical material of the collection serves as a source of new factual data on the specifics of the functioning and development of various classes and categories of English language units under the influence of social changes and cultural events. Addressed to philologists and all those interested in the problems of modern English studies.
