Cooperación Entre Brasil Y Rusia En El Ártico: Oportunidades Y Perspectivas
The article is devoted to the analysis of interests and cooperation of Brazil and Russia in the Arctic, taking into account the concept of “soft power”, peaceful coexistence and “global regionalism”. The potential of such interaction and its prospects in bilateral and multilateral formats are assessed, and the specifics of the formation of Brazil’s “polar identity” are considered. Both countries have common interests in such areas as renewable energy sources, logistics systems, scientific cooperation, and the fight against threats caused by climate change. Although neither Brazil nor the BRICS as a whole have yet a common Arctic policy, the problems of this region regularly fall into their sphere of attention. The current international political situation, despite certain turbulence, creates favorable conditions for more comprehensive cooperation between Brazil and Russia in the Arctic, which can also extend to other areas.
