The author explores the theoretical foundations of adaptation issues in the light of the transformation processes taking place in the economy, the author's definition of adaptability is given. The aim of the study is to identify problem areas of integration processes in the form of ecosystem development, possible approaches to the formation of ecosystem adaptability. The topic of the issue is to change the research orientation from already established management methodological concepts to the advancement of the processes of technological transformation and digital globalization in the theoretical awareness of economists. The author examines the issues of ecosystem formation through the prism of the adaptability of the management system. As a result of the work, a certain sequence of evolution of organizational systems, as well as formed business models into the so-called ecosystems, are identified, the conditions for successful development and possible risks of ecosystems are identified, the understanding of the ecosystem is investigated, and the author's definition of adaptability is given.
