Аbstract. Last year, 2024, was one of the heaviest years for market participants – along with a decrease in loading, the operational situation was also extremely difficult. At the same time, despite the fact that by the end of 2024, Most of the railway performance indicators turned out to be the worst in the foreseeable historical perspective. In December, a number of operational indicators (speed, carriage turnover) showed a slight improvement. This improvement, however, had little effect on the overall picture for the year. Moreover, there is reason to believe that a number
of measures aimed at improving the operational environment have had a negative impact on the dynamics of cargo loading.
The article provides an overview of the state of the railway freight transportation market by the end of 2024. The key indicators of the freight transportation market, indicators of the operational work of railway transport are considered.
