One of the most significant shortcomings in Enterprise Architecture methods is insufficient study and a weak formalization of planning the transition from the current state to the target enterprise architecture. This transition planning is often a creative process whose success depends on experience, intuition, knowledge of corporate culture, the history of the company. In addition, the process is more complicated in large organizations with large number of architectural elements, which makes it difficult to use the methods described in the literature.
This paper describes an approach to planning the transition to the target enterprise architecture based on the Matrix of Change, which allows to take into account the relationship between existing and new practices at the company.
