At HSE University–St Petersburg, Experts Discuss How AI Changes Tourist Routes and Cultural Heritage
Neural networks are no longer simple travel assistants; now they decide what to include on the route and what to skip. Artificial intelligence changes how people perceive a place and shapes the image of tourist centres. At the II International Scientific and Practical Conference ’Information Technologies in the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage,’ researchers discussed who controls algorithmic solutions and in what ways, and whether authentic traditions get lost in them.

Degtyareva S. S., D.A. Bardonov, K.A. Lysenko, M.E. Minyaev, I.E. Nifant’ev, D.M. Roitershtein

The reaction of 1,4,7-trimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane with samarium, gadolinium, and terbium
chloride tetrahydrofuranates gives mononuclear complexes [LnCl3(Me3tacn)(THF)n] (Me3tacn = 1,4,7-
trimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane; Ln = Sm (I), Gd (II), n = 1; Ln = Tb (III), n = 0). The treatment of
complexes I or II with 1,2,4-triphenylcyclopentadienyl potassium affords mono(cyclopentadienyl) complexes
[CpPh3LnCl2(Me3tacn)] (CpPh3 = 1,2,4-triphenylcyclopentadienyl; Ln = Sm (IV), Gd (V)). Complexes
IV and V are formed even when a twofold excess of CpPh3K is used. The molecular structure of complexes
I–V was established by X-ray diffraction analysis (CCDC nos. 2299485 (I), 2299487 (II), 2299486
(III), 2305352 (IV), 2306051 (V)).

When universal machine learning models fail in capacitance prediction for carbon-based supercapacitors: Leakage-aware validation and electrolyte screening
Makarov D. M., Kalikin N., Fashchevsky K. A. et al., Electrochimica Acta 2026 Vol. 579 Article 150159
Machine learning (ML) has become a powerful tool for accelerating the development of carbon-based supercapacitors; however, most published models assume that a single predictive framework can describe both conventional porous carbons and hybrid carbon electrodes. Here, we test this assumption using a comprehensive benchmark dataset and an extended literature-curated dataset enriched with synthesis- and electrolyte-related descriptors. Three ML algorithms ...

Advances in colloidal anisotropic nanocrystals for high-efficiency light-emitting diodes
Zhukov A., Chen F., Zeng Y. et al., Nanoscale 2026 Vol. 18 No. 36 P. 19223–19253
Colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals have emerged as promising materials for next-generation light-emitting diodes (LEDs) owing to their solution processability, tunable emission wavelengths, narrow emission linewidths, and high photoluminescence quantum yields. Among them, anisotropic nanocrystals, including one-dimensional nanorods (NRs) and two-dimensional nanoplatelets (NPLs), offer additional opportunities for controlling transition dipole moment orientation and light out-coupling efficiency. These ...

Мальцева В. Е., Ananyev I., Milevskii N. et al., Molecular Systems Design and Engineering 2026 Vol. 11 No. 7 P. 691–704
The use of hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents (DESs) as extractants for metal ion separation is largely due to the ease of their preparation and the possibility of modifying them depending on the composition of the metal mixture to be separated. However, the most common approach to DES modification involves the replacement of the extractant, while ...
