Шанхайская Организация Сотрудничества как новая модель сотрудничества в области безопасности: Сравнение ШОС и ОДКБ (作为新型安全合作模式的上海合作组织与集安条约组织之比较)
The escalating Ukraine crisis which broke out on February 24, 2022, has intensified the “global changes of a magnitude not seen in a century,” revealing that the NATO-style closed and confrontational military alliance does not represent the fundamental interests and correct development direction of global security. The search for a new security cooperation model that can bring lasting peace and stability to the international community has becomming an urgent task. Currently, in the Eurasian continent, there are three major regional security cooperation organizations: NATO, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The SCO and the CSTO share a significant overlap in geography and responsibilities. However, through comparison, it can be observed that the CSTO, as a traditional security organization, remains trapped in the Cold War-era confrontational military alliance model. This limits its significance in shaping the future direction of international security mechanisms. In contrast, the SCO, guided by the “Shanghai Spirit” of non-alignment and non-confrontation, has embarked on a new path of multilateral cooperation. It possesses the potential to represent the common aspirations and fundamental interests of countries in the Eurasian region and even of humankind, and will make greater contributions in promoting peace, security, stability, and development for all nations and in building a community of shared future for humankind.
