Интернет-мемы как потенциальный механизм копинга учащихся
In this article, internet memes are regarded and analysed as a potential mechanism for psychological coping, specifically among university students. In the course of the study, a survey was conducted. The total number of participants was 111 students of higher educational institutions. The questions were divided into three categories: general data; using the “DASS-21” scale (“The Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale - 21 items”) to determine respondents' tendencies and susceptibility concerning depression, anxiety, and stress; the evaluation of the material according to six criteria. Data analysis was carried out using the "RStudio" software, the programming language of choice was "R". The obtained results allow us to make conclusions about the importance of internet memes in the educational process, not only in terms of the authenticity of the language material, its cultural significance but also as a coping mechanism in the conditions of increased psychological pressure. The author traces correlations between low-risk and high-risk groups, their perceptions and opinions about the memes proposed for evaluation from the viewpoint of their clarity, negativity, humour, personal relatability, offensiveness, and shareability. In general, it can be noted that more than half of the respondents consider ironic internet memes on the topics of depression, anxiety, and stress to be a positive phenomenon that helps to improve their psychological state. However, about a third of the respondents express their concern about the negativity of the topic, thereby emphasising the hidden danger of these disorders and the relevance of the study.
