30 лет поиска оптимальных взаимоотношений
Establishment of diplomatic relations between the USSR and the Republic of Korea (ROK) was not a spontaneous event. Both countries, despite their different economic, military, and political weight in the world, their different political and ideological orientations, and their mutual criticism, have been searching for ways of interaction since a certain stage, understanding the benefits of them. But the USSR wanted to develop economic ties first, and then normalize political relations, i.e. establish diplomatic relations. ROK wanted to normalize inter-state relations first, and then develop economic ties. The script of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries was held in the South Korean version. Over the past 30 years, relations between our countries have developed in all areas, in particular trade and economic relations. We can be optimistic about the prospects for relations between the two countries.
