HSE Researchers Make Aldehydes Perform Dual Function
Chemists from HSE University have discovered a way to carry out a reductive addition reaction without using an external reducing agent. Instead, the required 'resource' is supplied by the aldehyde itself, one of the reaction participants. This approach helps prevent unwanted side reactions, reduces toxicity, and simplifies the production and synthesis of organic molecules, including those used in the manufacture of medicines. The study has been published in Journal of Catalysis.

HSE Scientists Explain Why Findings in Autism Research Differ
Researchers from the Cognitive Health and Intelligence Centre at HSE University conducted the first-ever systematic review of studies on the specifics of emotion-from-motion perception in autism. The review showed that differences found between autistic and non-autistic individuals are largely associated with the experimental design and the types of tasks given to study participants. The review findings have been published in Research in Autism.

Reliability of Space Infocommunications Equipment

P. 354–357.
Kofanov Y. N., Lvov B. G., Meleh N. A., Sotnikova S.

The theme of this work is the process of creating modern on-board space radio electronic equipment (REE), which performs the functions of infocommunications relations in television, Internet, navigation, telemetry, monitoring of terrestrial processes and others. With the increase in space expeditions to distant planets, the role of infocommunications technology is growing, and it must be provided by REE with high reliability. The peculiarity is that the increased terms of active existence of REE in these cases should be provided in an increased range of external factors. The author developed the information technology of computer modeling at the early stages of the design of space REE. At the same time, his scientific school created an automated system to ensure reliability and quality of equipment (ASONIKA). The work reveals the capabilities of the ASONIKA system for the convergence of the existing theory of reliability in order to ensure trouble-free infocommunications technology for long space flights.

Computer simulations are growing in popularity in robotics research due to their near-zero cost of error and lower labor intensity. One of necessary components of a simulation, in addition to a robot model, is a model of a world in which the robot operates. While it is always possible to construct a world model manually, ...

Modeling the Light Curves of Cosmic Gamma-Ray Bursts
Khabibullin A., A. S. Pozanenko, Lobachevskii Journal of Mathematics 2025 Vol. 46 No. 4 P. 1459–1470
It is known that the light curve of a prompt emission of cosmic gamma-ray bursts consists of separate pulses. Moreover, in a real light curve these pulses often overlap so that it becomes impossible to study separately the pulses in each light curve. However, spectral analysis, in particular, the power spectral density (PSD) of light ...

Bulatov Y., Kryukov A., Suslov K., Renewable Energy 2026 Vol. 256. Part A P. 1–9
The integration of distributed generation into electric power systems requires advanced methods for control under normal, emergency, and post-emergency operating conditions. Distributed generation can rely on asynchronized synchronous generators (ASGs), which have advantages over synchronous machines. Their application however necessitates sophisticated automatic control systems. This study aims to identify the effects of a self-tuning predictive ...
