The section provides the uniqueness of the landscape and assessment of the natural heritage of the territory of the Bolgar historical and archaeological complex. Described environmentally valuable natural features, reveals the dangerous and adverse effects of natural processes on the territory of Bolgar historical and archaeological complex. Described the landscape zoning of the buffer zone and types of dangerous and unfavorable natural processes in its territory, and associated restrictions when used in a cultural, tourist and other purposes.
The article is devoted to the history of the Russian Research Institute Cultural and Natural Heritage named after D. S. Likhachev, formation of structure, fields of research and main results of the activities of the Heritage Institute for 1992-2013.
The paper aims to discuss the multifaceted links between the marine environment of the Gulf of Finland and the representations of the large complex of cultural heritage related to the city of St. Petersburg. The paper is based on a spatial imaginary of Greater St. Petersburg as the cultural and technological unity of the city and adjacent waterscapes in the times of the Russian Empire. This concept is instrumental to see the historical links between the parts of the heritage complex that has by now disintegrated and has been separated by state borders.
