Features of domestic and foreign methods of an estimation (Reliability Prediction) of indicators of reliability of mechanical and electromechanical elements of devices and systems are considered. The basic characteristics of models of operational failure rate of mechanical elements and the recommendation about their application are resulted. It is shown, what even use of the software realizing methods of calculation of reliability can cause the considerable difficulties connected with reliability of the initial data.
