The authors show specific features of the Soviet post-war ideological campaign in the sphere of culture. Examples of the Perm region help the authors to investigate the issue in detail. The main sources for these studies are files of the State Social-Political History Archives of the Perm Region. These sources allow the authors to determine the Communist party organs approaches to the organization of the campaign at the regional level as well as specific features of public reaction of intelligentsia to decrees of the CPSU Central Committee which defined the scope of the campaign. Analysis of the sources suggests that, despite of the aggressive way of the campaign at the regional level, officials of cultural institutes tried not only to demonstrate their approval of the decisions and their active participation in the fulfillment of these decisions. At the same time, they tried to use the campaign for solving their corporative and even personal problems.
