Шишкин Е. А. Философия науки. 2012. № 2 (53). С. 16-25.

The article considers the phenomenon of creativity from a philosophical point of view. We give a reconstruction of the creative act in logical and historical patterns. Particular attention is paid to the mythology, as the oldest of the developed forms of creativity, in its relation with modern science. We give an interpretation of scientific creativity in accordance with the proposed reconstruction. As in the past decade, there is increased attention to the problem of the mythical and alternative types of rationality, a new approach to scientific creativity is articulated.

Nowdays every serious attempt to justify scientific realism is obliged to somehow manage van Fraassen’s employment of evolutionary epistemology against the important realistic «no-miracles argument». Thus a systematic translation of arguments pro et contra sufficiency of natural selection for evolutionary progress into epistemological language is needed. The main thesis of this paper is that it is difficult and maybe even impossible to reconcile scientific realism with classic evolutionary epistemology based on selectionist models.

Князева Е. Н. Философия науки. 2013. № 18. С. 81-94.

The concept of cognitive complexity is developed in the article. The complexity of cognition involves the syncretic inner connection of the level of perception and the mental level (perceptual thinking), the logical and intuitive components, the analogue, continuous and digital, discrete ones as well as loops of feedback between a cognitive agent and a medium which it cognizes, the connection of cognition with action, of cognition with communication. The cognitive complexity is formed also by complexity of functioning of consciousness and of the intertwining of its levels. Mind is considered as a structure-process in the interdependence of its bodily and mental aspects: body is able to cognize; it is thinking one, whereas mind is moving one. Mind is a self-organizing system, and self-organization engenders the phenomena of emergence, unpredictability on the level of the whole. The concept of cognitive complexity is discussed in the context of the notions of complexity and nonlinearity of thinking as well as of nonlinearity of writing. It is argued that a “complex epistemology” (Edgar Morin) is necessary for comprehension of complexity of cognition and creativity

Шишкин Е. А. Философия науки. 2016. № 1 (68). С. 3-13.

The article discusses an important function, performed by mythological creativity in the modern world, – communication between different spheres of differentiated knowledge. The philosophical reconstruction of historical relation between philosophy and religion through the epoch’s mode of thought and the mythological constructions is given on the basis of research on history and philosophy of science, made in the twentieth century.

Левин С. М. Философия науки. 2014. № 3. С. 30-41.

For any compatibilist theory of free will basing on the naturalistic worldview, it is difficult to reconcile propositional content of intentions with their specific causal implementation. We often fulfill our prior intentions in an absolutely unexpected way; nevertheless, they result in desired consequences. Then, there arises a question whether we should treat such an action as an accidental or intentional one. To answer this question the paper uses John Searle’s taxonomy of action and considers how a description of phenomenology of action may differ from a description of its real causes. We show why cases of wayward causation are relevant just for our prior intentions and are of no significance in situations when our action is an effect of our immediate intention.
