The article studies social aspects of the political crisis in 1730, in particular the problem of the noble identity and the stratification in the first third of XVIII century.
The article focuses on analysis of urban culture as a product of emotional capitalism. Visual consumption, aestheticization and iconic industry (i.e. tourism, photo, design and fashion) are considered as key features of the process of city culture development, in which economic and emotional discourses are closely interwined with each other. Taking into account the variety of process of city space emotionalization, the author of the article has limited her analysis to the aestheticization in form of diversification, militarization and domestication of city space.
PRODUCTION OF NEWS PHOTOGRAPHY: ANALYTICAL RESOURCES OF SOCIAL SCIENCES The article focuses on the process of production of news photographs. News photographs, created by leading information agencies, occupy a significant place in the visual flow that surrounds modern man, however their production is practically not investigated. Proposed by the author revision of approaches, developed in the context of visual researches and sociology of journalism, promotes designation of fundamental principles of microanalysis of visual production. For their detalization the materials of fieldwork conducted in Moscow bureaus of international wire services (interviews and participant observation) carried out by the author are used.
Based on the compensation theory, proposed by Joachim Ritter, Hermann Lübbe and Odo Marquard, this article concerns the question of orientation in the modern society. It analyzes some consequences of the crises, in particular, emphatic search for the meaning of life. The article emphasizes the following question: can humanities, in particular philosophy, contribute to the solving of the orientation problem in the complex modern reality? The finding of the research provides the productive notions to the discussion about the meaning of humanities in the modern era.
