The article covers the main findings on the left-right visual field asymmetry in various tasks (simple stimulus detection, visual search, multiple object tracking, masked presentation, crowding, etc.). The problem of lexical information processing in the right and left visual hemifields and also the issue of brain mechanisms of lexical information processing are raised. The author gives a description of the basic theoretical models of the left-right visual field asymmetry in lexical information processing.
The article presents an empirical study of the relationship between the psychological well-being of a person and his/ her inner dialogical activity, measured as the frequency of dialogical practices of praying and meditating. The result showed that the frequency of dialogical practices weakly positively correlates with all indicators of psychological well-being in the samples of Orthodox believers, Muslims and Buddhists, and makes a unique significant contribution to the explanation of well-being dispersion. The result is argued from the point of the problem of method for studying internal dialogue.
The article deals with the role of tribal identity and its political use in African states, as in Guinea-Bissau. The author tells about the tribalism as an important and permanent factor of the political process, which affects state system, army, and society and contradicts with the ideas of civil equality and national unity.
Regulations of social security and protection (in Yarosiavi region in particular) have certain defects. Practice of courts of general jurisdiction and applying of legislative acts by social protection authorities help reveal such defects. The author suggests ways to solve the problem.
The article examines the results of the 2017 presidential elections in Liberia – a country that for many years had been engulfed in a bloody military and political conflict, and then underwent the lengthy period of post-conflict reconstruction, which has in no small measure affected the nature of electoral processes and political development of the country as a whole.
The article investigates the cross-ethnic perception of the stereotypes of business communication, with Russians and people of other nationalities as subjects. Determinants of the stereotype formation, as well as differences in the perception of these stereotypes by the Russians and their non-Russian counterparts were identified.
The article reveals an attempt of the author to analyze the development of personality and its main components in ontogenesis using the system-structural approach. We regard these psychological phenomena as multidimensional, multilevel holistic formations, the origin of which, further development and functioning are characterized by distinct heterochrony. Our study of time phenomenon in personality evolution is based on B. Ananyev's definition of the person's age not only as ontogenetic phase succession but also as social life of a person, as well as the history of personality formation in a particular society at a certain stage of its historical development. As a methodological basis for this analysis of personality and its ontogenetic development we use the system approach and time phenomenon as an integral characteristic of person's evolution according to B. Ananyev.
