The article is devoted to the welfare sate, which is the one of the most important social phenomena of the ХХth century, as well as its present state, challenges and prospects. Since the beginning of the 1990s, there has been a tendency to curtail state social activities caused by a series of crises in social and economic spheres. However, even with the reduction of state social obligations, most of the economically developed countries are trying to maintain the social support system. Futhermore, structural changes are being made, the role of key agents of social policy is being rethought, and national features of the state are taken into account.
The contemporary informational society that is based upon the principles of integrated communications remains the major element that secures the stability of the global social interaction system as well as the common agenda for major states of the world. global politics). The perspectives of globalization as the model of progress are heavily dependent upon the ability of information society to preserve its integrity. But from the structural point of view the informational society is vested with substantial potential of self-development that drives the internal contradiction and systemic conflicts between internal processes and external context for development of information society. The goal of the article is to locate the major knots of contradictions in the development of the global information society and their analysis from the point of view of further development.
