The article addresses the views of G. Shpet, L. Vygotsky, M. Bakhtin andothers on art's influence on one's personality andcognitive andaffective spheres. They hadtheir own understanding of the whole issue andof catharsis in particular. The authors focuses on the analysis of inner andouter forms of works of art andassumes that, if reached, the inner form has the strongest influence on man: it enriches andbroadens one's own inner form of active contemplator of work of art.

This article advances the idea of cultural and individual values being connected to each other not directly, but through the consciousness and activity, which presupposes the integral unity of cultural-historic methodological approach and the activity methodological approach in psychological researches. Activity effects mainly on forming of the consciousness and personality: it underlies them. In the cultural-historic approach such basis, in a way, a unit of analysis of consciousness and personality, is a value-oriented experience. The necessity of integration of the activity approach with cultural-historic approach lies in the integral ontology of psyche, behavior, activity, experience, sense, consciousness, personality, culture and its values.
The article deals with the causes of modern dualistic view of women in media and mass communication. In the article author analyzes the reasons for the transformation of the female image from the time of the Ancient World to the present day. The author addresses issues of social and cultural influence on the distorted view of the function of women in society. A wide range of test materials (folklore, medieval works, materials of media, etc.) makes it possible to draw conclusions on the continuing bifurcation in Summaries - 274 - the perception of the female image and constant presence of the attributes and patterns of social behavior that differ sharply from each other.
About what do Chekhovian «heroes» grieve? About a life which value-horizons are principles and ideals of culture. But culture falls, its ideals and principles are discredited. A person whose life is interconnected with life of culture falls as well. Chekhovian characters grieve from comprehension of «escaping being», everyone in their own way. They live in a vague presentiment of cultural catastrofe.
