In Old Russian Chronicles, it has been attested three types of reported speech. In this article, I focus on formal features of jako recitativum, i.e. direct discourse embedded with the particle jako. In some chronicles, there is no formal difference between jako recitativum and indirect discourse, as both constructions are introduced by jako. In other chronicles, jako recitativum is clearly contrasted with indirect discourse introduced by the subordinate conjunctions ozhe (azhe). In the latter chronicles, the contexts with jako recitativum are supposed to express evidential distancing towards the content of utterance.

Пименова Н. Б. Вестник Московского университета. Серия 9: Филология. 2013. № 2. С. 48-55.

The article deals with the choice of derivational options for abstract nouns, marked by certain suffi xes, in the context of physical connotations ('take courage', 'sadness comes', etc.) in the German medieval texts. This phenomenon is classifi ed as derivational metaphorical imagery; the article analyzes the degree of its regularity, diachronic stability and connection with the peculiarities of the word formation system.

The dialect of Gammalsvenskby: Describing morphology of an unexplored language. Nouns of type m. 2b

The paper continues the series of publications on the morphology of the dialect of Staroshvedskoye (Sw. Gammalsvenskby), which is the only surviving Scandinavian dialect in the territory of the former Soviet Union. The village of Staroshvedskoye is located in the Kherson region, Ukraine. Its Swedish dialect historically belongs to the group of Swedish dialects of Estonia and goes back to the dialect of the island of Dagö (Hiiumaa). Due to the lack of studies of the present-day dialect and because of the severe endangerment in which the dialect is currently situated, the most urgent task is to collect, classify, and publish the factual material. This paper introduces comprehensive material on nouns of type m. 2b which occurred in unterviews with fluent speakers of the dialect.

Дорофеева С. В. Вестник Московского университета. Серия 9: Филология. 2017. № 5. С. 189-196.

The article deals with the problem of dyslexia, i.e. specific learning disability that is neurobiological in origin. The author discusses the mutual influence between theory and practice: how the knowledge of language theory could help in developing remedial programs for dyslexic children and how studying of cases of pathology in written language acquisition can add value to contemporary theory of language and how it can improve the knowledge about brain mechanisms associated with language.

Буденная Е. В. Вестник Московского университета. Серия 9: Филология. 2017. Т. 4. С. 199-208.

The Russian language has undergone a typologically rare evolution from an affixal to a pronominal strategy in its subject reference marking pattern. This shift can be partially explained by the fall of copulas in verbal clauses, but within this approach, a large time gap between the copular loss in the third person, on the one hand, and in the first and second persons, on the other hand, is inexplicable. A number of controversial points is clarified with the help of a diachronic analysis of nominal clauses based on monuments of the 11th–17th centuries. Meanwhile, an understudied phenomenon of the predominance of three-member patterns in the early texts before the 13th century is investigated.

Летучий А. Б. Вестник Московского университета. Серия 9: Филология. 2018. № 4. С. 25-48.

In the article, the problem of clausal subjects in Russian is considered (as in Menja udivilo, čto nikto ne prišel ‘It surpsised me that no one came’). I conclude that some substantial properties differentiate clausal subjects from nominal ones. The analysis shows that clausal complements should be regarded as non-canonical subjects. Importantly, the class of non-canonical subjects should be divided into (1) subjects that have non-canonical structure (complement clauses) and (2) subjects with non-canonical position in the argument structure or case marking (e.g., dative arguments of impersonal predicates).
