This study presents the analysis of clichés and stamps as indicators of tolerance or intolerance in mass media when evaluating objects, events and phenomena as “self” or “other”. In the article the author concerns the analysis of the degree of elaboration of the scientific problems in question. There is also information about existing integral views on the problem and its individual aspects: stamps and clichés of consciousness, evaluative categories “self” and “other”, the tolerance of verbal behavior.  The author also examines the peculiarities of stamps and clichés of consciousness as well as its correlation with speech cliches and stamps and its connection with precedent phenomena. The author studies the markers connected with “self” and “other” categories as well as the limits of verbal behavior tolerance and verbal markers of tolerance.

Persuasion is  known to be an amalgam of logic and emotion. Emotional response is viewed as triggered by certain elements present in a given text. This article suggests that one way to analyze specific textual structures targeting emotional cognition of the recipient is to view them in terms of verbalized prototypical scenarios. Prototypical scenario is a type of idealized cognitive model that is realized with minimal variations from the core in texts through specific lexico-semantic and grammatical choices in language use. Given these choices we can explain how exactly emotional response is evoked in the recipient.

A joint research project carried out by an interdisciplinary group of Russian and Swedish linguists, sociologists and educators-psychologists (the Swedish Institute grant), besides solving pragmatic tasks of finding out relative quantitative-qualitative specificity of national cognitive representations of values, first of all, had methodological goals. They were to check the efficiency of the linguistic methods developed in this study (and, thus, to prove the theoretical ideas that served the basis for it) of getting factual data that allow reconstructing and comparing of the corresponding areas of cognitive representations.

The article touches upon terminological system of linguistics from the cognitive linguistics point of view, i.e. as an area of knowledge and a format of knowledge. The aim of the research is to continue development of content analysis methodology and methodology of format of knowledge structure anal-ysis; methodology of conceptual area modeling, i.e elaboration of new methods and techniques in ana-lising complex structures of knowledge. According to the methodology, introduced by Karaulov U.N., Filippovich U.N. [Karaulov, Filip-povich 2009], we develop methodology of conceptual analysis and discuss complex integrative format of knowledge – a cogneme. Basic research methods are the following: lingvocognitive experiment and simulation method. The results of the study are reflected in the article: we describe the experiment, which gives data analy-sis; we define the parameters of the data analysis, according to which speech material is qualified; we compare the results of the experiment with lexicographical and grammatical sources data; we identify the criteria for determining the hierarchy of methods to define the meaning, encoded in linguistic terms; according to these criteria all the methods of sense defining, found in experimental data, are shown; all of the aforesaid allowed to fill up a meaningful cogneme model of verbal consciousness of participants of the experiment (based on the field of knowledge, grasped by linguistic terms). This model of knowledge and technique of its analysis may be used in describing other concep-tual areas.
