The legal language in the era of the development of digital technologies, the introduction of innovations is being transformed towards a formal expression. In some cases, it becomes possible to automate certain legal structures, which positively affects law enforcement practice and accessibility for citizens. The texts of legal information, the results of law enforcement practice are accumulated in huge volumes, the processing of which leads to the identification of inaccuracies, as well as patterns that can be used as the basis for translating law into a machine-readable form. The purpose of this article is to study general issues of machine-readable law, as well as to identify the role of big data in the creation of machine-readable and machine-executable law. The objectives of the study are to analyze doctrinal approaches to the essence and translation of law into machine-readable form, to determine criteria for the quality of machine-readable law, to identify and analyze the principles of machine-readable law, and the opportunities associated with the implementation of Big Data when translating law into machine-readable form. The work uses methods of both empirical (analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, systematization) and theoretical (methods of constructing and studying the object of study and methods of constructing and justifying theoretical knowledge) levels, comparative legal, historical methods.
