This article examines the impact of the documents and decisions of the 20th CPC Congress of October 2022 on the military policy of the PRC. Defense issues were addressed in the report of Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, and in the decisions of the Congress, including those concerning changes to the Party Statute. Many of the adopted decisions elaborated on the Party's earlier decisions in the sphere of military construction, at the same time, a number of new formulations have appeared indicating a further increase in attention to defense issues.
