Идея европейской интеграции сквозь века
This article examines the aspirations for the creation of a united Europe and a single European legal order, which go far back to the period of Antiquity, namely: the Ancient Roman Empire and the Ius Romanum ("Roman law"); the Frankish State and feudal law; European Communities and the path to the European Union. It is worth noting that attempts to create a single European space have been made since Antiquity, yet only the European Union and its predecessors in the form of European communities managed to progressively and peacefully implement a successful mechanism of European integration that has stood the test of time. All kinds of crises and upheavals of the late XX-early XXI centuries could not lead to the collapse of the European Union today.
