At HSE University–St Petersburg, Experts Discuss How AI Changes Tourist Routes and Cultural Heritage
Neural networks are no longer simple travel assistants; now they decide what to include on the route and what to skip. Artificial intelligence changes how people perceive a place and shapes the image of tourist centres. At the II International Scientific and Practical Conference ’Information Technologies in the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage,’ researchers discussed who controls algorithmic solutions and in what ways, and whether authentic traditions get lost in them.

Применение метода сторителлинга (TPRS) для развития устно-речевых умений школьников

Педагогика. 2022. Т. 11. № 86. С. 51–59.
Rodomanchenko A.

The article examines the effectiveness of the TPRS method (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) on the development of speaking skills. Having been proven effective in multifarious educational contexts around the world, TPRS is barely used in the Russian educational environment. This paper sets out to address this research gap. It was hypothesized that the use of TPRS with Russian lower level secondary school students would contribute to the development of their monological speaking skills. To prove it true there was created a set of materials for four consecutive lessons which were later tested on a group of K-6 students at school №1258, Moscow, Russia. The materials took into account both the fundamental principles of TPRS and preadolescents’ psychological characteristics. Students’ speaking skills were assessed before and after the experiment. According to the results, not only has the use of TPRS boosted students' speaking skills, but it has also inspired their motivation and active participation in class. Key words. TPRS, Starlight, oral-speech skills, methods of teaching English, storytelling, motivation, monologue, learning through stories, natural language acquisition, high school, verbal communication, speaking.

Ivanov I., Ostapenko E., World Leisure Journal 2026 P. 1–21
Adolescents’ leisure is increasingly compressed by tutoring and organized classes, raising concerns about time for self-directed recovery and agency. This study examines how structured and unstructured time relate to psychological well-being and academic achievement, and whether well-being helps explain time-achievement links. Using a 2024 school-based survey of 2,944 Russian students in grades 5–8, we measured ...

Qiang S., Linguistic Research 2025 No. 3 P. 76–85
The determination of new words and meanings is a key issue in lexical history studies. Budennaya E., Slovĕne 2026 Т. 1 С. 31–67
The article examines Old Russian anthroponyms with the suffix -ec-, originally conveying the meaning ‘less than X’. A diachronic corpus study of 11th–17th-century texts reveals that while this suffix lacked inherent pejorative connotations in Old Russian sources, contextual (adherent) pejoration is clearly observable. For pre-15th-century chronicles, two primary usage patterns are identified—1) characters with explicit negative evaluation, and 2) ...

Three basic aspects of the operation of generative neural network models (generative artificial intelligence) are discussed in the article: the concept of a "token", the probabilistic nature of the generated response, and the concept of a "large model", the size of which ensures the pseudo-intelligent behavior of neural network chatbots. The issues of implementing generative models, areas ...
